Attended “Bean Salon,” a gathering of indigenous-bean lovers monthly held at Yokohama. This time the presenter Ms. Hasegawa, who is a legume retailer working in Hokkaido, shared her local legume journey in Italy.
What I found really fascinating was Trasimeno Bean, an indigenous legume grown around Lake Trasimeno (https://www.fondazioneslowfood.com/en/slow-food-presidia/lake-trasimeno-bean/). She said it gets easily tender and goes pretty well with bread.
After the lecture participants cooked pasta with this bean, but I couldn’t make it this time unfortunately… . Gotta visit Italy and give it a try someday:)

Since I had to leave early with no lunch, Ms. Hasegawa gave me some homemade Ukraine sauerkraut. Sauerkraut is my go-to fermented food, but this one with fennel seeds was soooo good!
